LOWER DIR: Thirteen Pakistani soldiers were killed as a result of a cross border attack by militants from Afghanistan, Geo News reported.
Following the deadly attack, Pakistan lodged its strong protest with Afghanistan's Charge d'affaires by summoning him to the Foreign Office in Islamabad.
According to military sources, six Pak soldiers were killed and eleven others went missing after militants in a cross border attack from Afghanistan fired two rockets and sniper shots into Lower Dir area. Later, the militants decapitated seven of the eleven missing soldiers.
Meanwhile, the military officials said fourteen militants were killed last night in a clash between more than 100 miscreants with Pakistani patrolling party.
They said Pakistan Army has registered its protest in strong terms over the inaction against militants safe havens in Afghanistan.

UK General meets General Kayani

General Sir David Richards, Chief of Defence Staff of the United Kingdom called on Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters on Monday.

The visiting dignitary is in Pakistan to attend the National Security Dialogue between Pakistan and United Kingdom. The two discussed the matters of mutual interest. 

Pakistan Pak summons Afghan envoy, lodges strong protest

Pakistan on Monday lodged strong protest with Afghanistan over the Sunday’s cross border militant attacks that killed its six soldiers and wounding several others.

Sources said that dozens of militants penetrated into Upper Dir area from Afghanistan and killed six security personnel. They said the forces in the quick raply killed14 militants.

Pakistan called Afghan Deputy head of Mission in Foreign office and lodged a strong protest over the issue. 

Pakistan blames fugitive militant commander Maulvi Fazlullah, who it believes has been hiding in Nauristan province of Afghanistan , for launching attacks on Pakistani forces.

Maulvi Fazlullah feld Pakistan when army launched full fledged offensive in Swat.

Islamabad said it had been asking the Afghan government  to take action against the militants, launching attacks in Pakistan.
