Captain Rashid Hakeem Shaheed

Captain Rashid Hakeem Shaheed belonged to Gilgit. He joined Army in 2002 and passed out from PMA with Khalid II platoon 109 PMA Long Course. He was posted to 18 Azad Kashmir Regt (Al Saif).The unit is named on the Great son of Soul Naik saif ali Janjua Shaheed Hilal e kashmir(equivalent ti Nishan e Haider). He remained for two years in Siachen with his parent unit and remained on forward most posts for entire duration for extended period of time. He joined Army Aviation in 2008 and passed out with P-49 course from army avn school. He was posted to 9 army aviation(Labbaiks) Squadron. He had flown 450 plus hours on Mushshak aircraft in span of two yrs and three months.

A brave, dignified, courageous and a passionate soldier with extremely good attributes of head and heart. A man with a unique and special taste and style. He possessed a special instinct for Calligraphy, fine arts, music,Poetry and Dress designing.
Captain Rashid Hakeem was very humble and friendly with his subordinates, always lead his men from the front in all unit competitions / assignment.... .


Capt Rashid has left a mother, wife, son Muhammad Rashid, four sisters and two younger brothers behind.

Capt Rashid Hakeem took off for a routine training mission at 0935 on 8th April 2010...at about 0953 hrs his aircraft was reported to be crashed in training area 20 miles North of Peshwar city, and He embraced Shahdat.
