JF-17 THUNDER INDUCTED IN PAF

SLAMABAD - Re-equipment Ceremony of 26 Squadron of Pakistan Air Force was held at an operational PAF Base on Monday. No 26 Squadron, one of the prime squadrons of the PAF, previously equipped with A-5 III aircraft has now been re-equipped with indigenously produced JF-17 Thunder.

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A re-equipment ceremony parade was also held on the occasion, in which the squadron color was presented to the squadron commander.

Speaking at the occasion, the Air Chief said, today as we re-equip No 26 squadron, we have also raised No.16 Squadron with the JF-17 Thunder aircraft. I would like to specially mention and highly appreciate the contribution and support of our Chinese friends in helping us acquires a technological breakthrough in the shape of this aircraft.

Induction of JF-17 Thunders has revolutionized PAF’s operational concepts. Our focus has been a capability-based development rather than the traditional threat based growth. Our effort has been to enhance and sustain our capabilities to cover all spectrum of Air Warfare including Military Operations other then war, He added.


Remember, we have a mission to maintain peace with honour in this volatile region and in these uncertain times.today Pakistan is at war, we know our responsibilities and will continue to make major contributions in our national effort. It is PAF’s commitment to the Nation that despite all odds, our resolve shall remain unshakable and we shall defend the country against any aggression, be it internal or external.

Later, a formation of A-5 III and JF-17 aircraft presented a fly-past. Ex squadron commanders of the squadron were also present at the occasion. Officials from the Ministry of Defence and Pak Army were also present at the ceremony

PAKISTAN ARMY HANDS OVER JINNAH HOUSE TO CULTURE DEPARTMENT

To commemorate the significance of the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the recently renovated Flag Staff House (Jinnah House) was handed over to the Department of Culture and Heritage Sindh by the Pakistan Army in a simple and graceful ceremony.

An ISPR statement said that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Zaheerul Islam were present at the ceremony besides Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Provincial Minister for Culture and Heritage Sassui Palijo.

Representatives from Culture and Heritage Department and other senior civil and military officials were present on the occasion.

The faculty and students from Army Public School and College and Sindh Madressatul Islam also attended the ceremony.

Sindh governor reviewed the Jinnah House and lauded Pakistan Army’s efforts in restoring the important national monument.

The annual CAS Award Ceremony of Fazaia Schools & Colleges was held at Aftab Auditorium of Fazaia Inter College, Islamabad, says a press release issued here Friday.

Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest awarded merit certificates, cash prizes, medals and trophies to students, headmistresses and principals in recognition of their outstanding performance.

While addressing the ceremony, the chief guest expressed his satisfaction over the steps taken by the Training Branch to improve the quality of education at Fazaia institutions. He appreciated the high standards and congenial environment of Fazaia institutions. The chief guest lauded the efforts made by Fazaia faculty by reiterating that in the whole scheme of education, a teacher holds the pivotal position. He urged the teachers to realise their role as mentors of the youth and builders of the nation. He also advised the students that they must cash upon their immense potential and extraordinary qualities to set higher educational goals for themselves in their future life.

The award ceremony was followed by a colourful talent show presented by students from various Fazaia Colleges. The talent show depicted tolerance, unity and fraternity. The show was highly lauded by the
aduince.

Capt Javed was born,bred and educated at Luton England,since his whole family was there...but his devotion,love for the country and Pakistan army lead him back to his country and he joined Pakistan Millitary Academy soon after completing his A level's.......In May 1999 during Kargil operation he was deployed at a forward post,due to accurate and on the spot firing of the artillery guns under his command,the indians suffered massive casualities and most of their posts were destroyed,,,finally after showing heroics in the top most battle field of the world (Kargil) for consecutively 3 months,Capt Raja Jawed embraced shahadat,while he was engaging the enemy attack with his arty guns,,,a direct hit from the enemy's BOFOR gun raised him several feet up in the air,and when his body fell back on the ground Capt Jawed embraced shahadat....He was awarded Tamgha e Bisalat.

PAKISTAN ARMY CONTINGENT LEFT FOR UNITED NATIONS MISSION

A Pakistan Army contingent left for United Nations Mission at Darfur Sudan. The contingent which comprised of 245 soldiers, was seen off by Brigadier Amal Zada Khan. He wished them success while performing their duties and maintaining peace and stability at Darfur.

It may be recalled that Pakistan has always endeavoured to provide maximum possible support to maintain peace and stability around the world and has been at the forefront in international peacekeeping missions. Pakistan’s participation in peacekeeping activities of the United Nations reflects its belief in the brotherhood of mankind and its commitment to peace across the world.

Rawalpindi - Ambassador Michael Steiner, German Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan called on Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters today.

According to ISPR, the visiting dignitary remained with him for some time and discussed the matters of mutual interest.

Mohammad Amir released

LONDON: A person with knowledge of the situation says Mohammad Amir, one of three Pakistani cricketers jailed in England for spot-fixing, has been released.

The person says the 19-year-old fast bowler was released from a young offenders’ institution in Weymouth, southwest England, on Wednesday halfway through his six-month sentence because of good behavior.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt and bowler Mohammad Asif are still serving their sentences after being convicted of fixing part of a test against England in August 2010.

Amir pleaded guilty before the trial at London’s Southwark Crown Court last year.

KAYANI WITNESS FORMATION LEVEL TRAINING EXERCISES IN KPT

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Bahawalpur Cantt and Khairpur Tamianwali, today, to witness formation level training exercises.

The exercises included training for conventional operations in the desert terrain, involving mechanized forces and PAF. Training for conduct of operations against militancy was also part of these exercises.

 COAS appreciated the high standard of training displayed by participating troops. He underscored the significance of operational preparedness against the entire threat spectrum.

Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Haroon Aslam, Commander Bahawalpur Corps.

There are people who walk among us like ordinary mortals but are heroes all long, but often they give u glimpses and ...hints of their true mettle. My friend Kama, was one such person and many will testify to this.A hero.

On a personal level, most down to earth and humble with his fellas and always a Positive pillar of support , one u could bank on... An artful but excitingly rash driver of everything from his beloved Vespa, to his Old Honda 70CC, and his revered hatchback Toyota "SportsModel" 86 Corolla with " The Highway Man" inscribed in bold on its back, and not to forget his 250m Golf Swings which he fired with languid smooth elegance...He harboured a strong special devotion to his faith in Allah Almighty and practiced it too.

A charmer to the core, he could ve had Sarah Palin begging for that Hug in a record 1 min and saved some national embarrassment , given the chance.
