Pakistan Navy Staff Course Officers visit Sri Lankan Naval Headq
A group of officers following the Pakistan Navy Staff Course visited the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 20th March 2013. Head of the delegation, Assistant Chief of Staff (Training) of the Pakistan Navy, Commodore Sajid Mahamood paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage. The PNSC officers are from Azerbaijan, China, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. They are on a study tour in Sri Lanka as part of their Staff course. Director Naval Operations of the Sri Lanka Navy, Commodore NPS Attygalle made a presentation for the visiting officers on the role and structure of the Sri Lanka Navy with special emphasis on asymmetric warfare. Mementos were exchanged between the Commander of the Navy and the Head of the Delegation as a gesture of goodwill to mark the occasion.

1965 war hero MM Alam passes away

KARACHI: 1965 war hero Muhammad Mahmood Alam popularly known as MM Alam passed away in Karachi.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spokesman said that Air commodore (retd) Muhammad Mahmud Alam passed away in Karachi on Monday morning after a long illness. He was 78.
MM Alam emerged as a hero in 1965 Pak-India war when as a fighter pilot he downed five Indian aircraft in less than a minute — the first four within 30 seconds.
